Comments Off on First Flip/Invert to Learn on a Wakeboard

So often I get asked – what’s the easiest flip to learn on a wakeboard? The answer isn’t as simple as saying a backroll or a tantrum, it really depends on the rider. In this video I break down the 4 easiest flips: 1. Backroll 2. Toeside backroll. 3. Tantrum 4. Toeside Frontroll. On top of that, I discuss why some inverts are easier for some people than others. I hope you find this video helpful, and stay tuned for more specific tutorials. Thanks for watching. David Details

Comments Off on Wakeboarding – how to set up your Wakeboard

A quick little interruption in the Zero To Hero series, to show you how to setup your wakeboard. I’ve had few people ask about binding positions, directions and stance, so I thought I’d make a quick video with some tips. Hopefully it helps you setup your board, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments. David

In this video we take a look at a step by step way to doing a Wake To Wake 180. We discuss which of the following is the easiest: – Heelside 180 – Toeside 180 – Half Cab 180, or Switch Toeside 180 Here’s a breakdown of how to actually do any of the 180s.

Comments Off on How to Wake to Wake – Big Jumps – Top Tips

In this episode of Zero to Hero, we finally learn how to get our wake jumps higher and go all the way wake to wake.

My first tip is – shorten your rope. The reason you shorten your rope is to make it easier to go wake to wake because the wake is more mellow and narrower the shorter you go.

Next up, cut out 10-12 feet from the wake. The initiate the progressive edge. Stand tall at the wake, and push down on the handle. The landing should feel smooth. Details

Comments Off on How to do the Progressive Edge – wakeboarding tutorial

The Progressive edge is a term that gets thrown around loosely in wakeboarding, so I thought before we learn wake to wakes, it would be a good idea to break it right down.

It’s about starting slowly, and building your edge stronger and stronger. 1 = really soft 2 = a little edge 3 = a medium edge 4 = strong edge 5 = very strong edge I hope this helps you, and it definitely will for our next video too. Thanks for watching . Details

Comments Off on How to 180 on a Wakeboard – 3 Easy Versions

In today’s video we’re going to learn how to do 180s. These are fundamental to wakeboarding, particularly as you progress your riding, as they’ll open many doors to more difficult tricks. First up, I find the easiest 180 is the Half Cab, as you land in your normal riding position. The second easiest is the toeside 180 and then the heel side. The most difficult one is certainly switch toeside – no pressure to learn this yet! The main things to focus on when doing any spins on a wakeboard are: to go up first, then spin, as if you spin off the wake you’ll get a faceplant! I hope this video helps, and feel free to ask any questions below. David
